RELOCATING TO ALAMANCE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA?

  • GETTING AROUND ALAMANCE COUNTY

  • Driving Around Alamance County (simple guide to the basic road layout). I-40 is the major interstate, west to east, bisecting the county basically in two from Exit 138 to 156, Hwy 70, or Church Street is a essentially parallels I-40, located to the north of I-40. Hwy 70 is a good alternate route of I-40 is at a standstill. *Technically it's called I-40/I-85, it's one of those "one in the same" roads.

  • Basic Geography. From west to east on I-40 you will travel through Burlington, Graham, and Mebane.

  • Restaurant Row. Go to Huffman Mill Road, exit 138 off I-40, go north (left turn off the exit eastbound). If you continue north on Huffman Mill Rd, turn right or left on I-70 or Church Street you will see plenty of restaurants (including the Mall on the left and Movie Theater, left on Church St.). If you can't find what  you want going right on Church St., turn around and go the other direction. You have a good 2-3 miles each way to find stores, restaurants, etc.

  • Hotels. This is a very Interstate oriented county. Most hotels are right off of I-40, just look for the highway signs.

  • Airport. I'm speaking of the Burlington/Alamance County Airport, take the Hwy 62 exit, travel south (or right off the exit, traveling I-40 eastbound). The airport is approximately 3 miles down Hwy 62 on your left (watch carefully or you will miss it). If your leaving the airport turn right out of the parking lot
